Sure, my books are fiction but I do sometimes muse characters from people I know (or even strangers!) In I Can Handle Him, I was wanting another best friend for the character Tory, and I wanted him to be a guy. Even better: a gay guy. I found tremendous inspiration in my own hairdresser, Daniel. Together we talked about this "best friend guy" and he gave me great ideas. When it came time to name him, I told him my ideas but then he planted his hands on his hips and insisted "this guy has to be named Daniel." So, that's how Daniel was born! Watch #MyBooksIn30Seconds for a great clip of him. Comments are closed.
